Hedland’s Well Women’s Centre (HWWC) and BHP are celebrating the continuation of a long running partnership that delivers real, tangible benefits to women in Port Hedland.
The renewed $2.3 million dollar partnership over three years will provide funding for program and service delivery across the four operational pillars: Clinical Services; Health Promotion; Home Away from Home; and Mental Health and Wellbeing Services.
Hedland Well Women’s Centre Chief Executive Kianna Barker said: “This funding makes a difference to the lives of women in Port Hedland. We are committed to supporting better health outcomes and accessibility to services locally for women.”
“Our collaborative partnership with BHP will allow us to deliver equitable and accessible services to more women in Port Hedland.”
BHP Manager Community WA Rachel Donkin said: “Working with local organisations to achieve better outcomes for communities is at the heart of BHP’s social investment program.”
“For the women of Hedland and surrounds, having access to health and wellbeing services through the Well Women’s Centre is a big part of staying connected and building a strong community.
“We’re pleased to continue our long-standing partnership for another three years, ensuring this support remains available to those who need it.”
Established in 1991, HWWC is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation, providing services that offer support for women aged 16 and over to reduce the incidence of disease and actively improve the health and wellbeing of women and their families in the Hedland area.
HWWC’s objective is to deliver health promotion activities and programs that improve the ability of women to have control over their health.
