Since 1991, Hedland Well Women’s Centre (HWWC) has proudly hosted an annual community fundraising event in support of local people affected by cancer.
Recognising the growing need for on-the-ground support, HWWC introduced an in-house Cancer Support Service in October 2020, ensuring women in our community receive the care they need.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Hedland and Pilbara community, last year’s Pink Pilbara Breakfast event raised an impressive $150,000, directly funding this vital service.
This year, all money raised through sponsorships, donations, and fundraising efforts will continue to support two principal areas:
- Primary healthcare – Ongoing delivery of HWWC’s clinical and health promotion programs including lifesaving screenings, education, and upskilling programs aimed at preventing women’s cancers.
- Secondary healthcare – Continued access to HWWC’s clinical Cancer Support Services for local women diagnosed with or connected to cancer.
As the demand for these services continues to rise, we invite you to join us in making a lasting impact. By working together, we can uplift and empower health opportunities for women in Port Hedland.
The success of the Pink Pilbara Breakfast is only possible thanks to the generosity and compassion of our amazing community. Donation opportunities are now open, and we’d love your support! Please reach out to learn how you, your organisation, or your business can contribute to this year’s auction.
We can’t wait to turn Hedland pink once again on Friday, 22nd August, with this year’s event hosted by the inspiring Marie-Anne Keeffe! Tickets will go on sale mid-July—so stay tuned.
Together, let’s make a difference.
